Home/Toronto
Toronto is home so this post will be focused on the "hot spots" to hit around Toronto, applicable for both locals and tourists. If you are someone that lives to eat (like me) - what better way to discover your own city then by visiting the bars, restaurants and local eateries that call it home. I'll also list some of my favourite spots to visit in the city not just for food, but fun as well!
The best bang for your buck, the tasting menu is definitely worth the splurge as you get multiple app's and mains. You'll be sufficiently full and happy when you leave this restaurant, as the food is delicious and the drink choices are gorgeous as well.
2. Edulis - 169 Niagra St, Toronto, ON
This is a *SPLURGE* for sure, the only option being a tasting menu which is why it's listed at number 2 on the list. The food was some of the best I've ever eaten, really putting a highlight on Canadian products and allowing the flavour and taste to shine through. The optional add on's were a bit dramatic, from caviar to ham, the prices were just climbing.
3. Chefs Assembly Hall - 111 Richmond St, Toronto, ON
My favourite place to stop for a quick lunch if you're rolling solo. The set up is similar to cafeteria style, with multiple areas of sitting for the multiple different food stalls. I love the Black Sesame Ramen from Ramen Isshin and any of the tacos from Colibri. I usually end the visit with a coffee from Bulldog, you'll become familiar with the bright orange lids if you are in the area.
4. Fat Pasha - 414 Dupont St, Toronto, ON
A vegetarians haven, this is best for going with a group of friends and getting as many sharing plates as you can possibly eat. The dips are simple but delicious, the labneh being my personal favourite. It's a good option for a light lunch or dinner and has a small, family vibe.
5. Superpoint - 184 Ossington Ave, Toronto, ON
Another cheap but delicious option, the pizza and pasta from this small Ossington restaurant is a combination of simple dishes made with amazing ingredients. If you're on the go, you can always grab a slice and head to the park to indulge.
